Helen is an events coordinator at a publishing company and this March she has been tasked with organising a networking event at a nearby hotel. The networking event will be an opportunity for writers hired by the company to meet readers and fellow writers, create working relationships and chat with new people. Since the event is intended as a way for guests to mingle, the catering needs to be enjoyed while standing and chatting, rather than a sit down meal. Helen contacted Hog Roast Whittlesey and discussed her needs with our team. After looking through our menus, it was decided that a canapes course would be perfect, followed by a classic hog roast served buffet style.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Whittlesey team arrived at the hotel with plenty of time to set up our catering station. We began by preparing the two courses and ensuring that there was plenty for the 120 guests to enjoy. When the guests arrived, our experienced waiting staff begin to serve a selection of delicious canapes. This course included roasted duck breast, fresh salmon, an Indian selection, and mini pizzas. Thirty minutes later, guests were able to queue at our catering station for a delicious bread roll, filled to the brim with sliced, slow-roasted pork, sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alternatively, we also served BBQ-pulled jackfruit for meat-free guests. Overall, this menu was perfect for the occasion and was a great addition to the event.
