Retiring from a job you love can be a sad moment, despite the fact that it means you will have so much more time to yourself. Martin has worked as a firefighter in Cambridge for the last thirty years. During this time he has become a friendly face for locals in the area to look out for, and he always offers a smile and a chat to whoever may need it. He has also done lots of incredible work professionally, including saving hundreds of homes from fires, saving numerous lives, and training a whole new fleet of firefighters to take over. Unfortunately, Martin’s health is not what it once was and he is no longer able to safely continue in his role. With his retirement becoming official this month, his team have organised the perfect farewell party to say goodbye to such a vital member of their fleet. The party will include local people from across Cambridge, as well as colleagues from over the years, family members, and friends. Additionally, Hog Roast Alconbury has been hired to serve our gourmet BBQ menu, which will be a perfect addition to the event.

On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Alconbury team is planning on getting to the function room in the morning to ensure that we have plenty of time to prepare our dishes on-site. Our menu will include succulent pork sausages, veggie sausages, juicy British beef burgers, halloumi and vegetable skewers, marinated chicken kebabs, and BBQ spareribs. For the sides, we will be serving homemade chips, sweet potato fries, gourmet coleslaw, and a variety of salad dishes. Overall, this will create the perfect varied buffet menu, with more than enough for every guest to enjoy.
