A Day At The Races for Hog Roast March
It was a day at the races for a small country town called March and Hog Roast March couldn’t wait to attend. They were holding their annual charity horse race and it was a popular event with locals as well as people from far and wide attending. It was just like a day at ascot, the ladies dressed up in their finest and gents in suits made it all more authentic. It was a fantastic day out for all the family.
There was a small fun fair for the little ones and side stalls doing the usual show stalls for fun. There were 9 races altogether with various jumps along the course. Horse and riders had come from all over to take part and found the experience very valuable for the horses. There was plenty of stiff competition in all the races. The totes were taking the bets for each race giving the odds for each horse as they would at the Grand National or other horse race. Punters were betting on the favourite and others to try and get the best results, some had more luck than others.
Hog Roast March had been asked to come along and do the food for the day. Being an outdoor catering company it was decided that a selection of 3 meats would be a good option to put on the hog roast machine. This is a fantastic machine of a great size for all occasions and can also be hired out to the general public with training on how to use it. The meats that were chosen were pork, beef and chicken. These were to be roasted to perfection and pulled apart to put in trays ready to fill wraps or floured rolls. A crisp fresh green salad was made and several different sauces were made to accompany the meats such as apple sauce, horseradish and sage & onion stuffing.
People flooded to where the fantastic aroma was coming from and filled up on rolls and wraps that were bursting with meat. Crispy crackling from the pulled pork was a great favourite with nothing left from the pig at all. The day ended on a high for a lot of people with money won and great food eaten and Hog Roast March had a very productive day with future bookings made.
